Playing the Game
I love learning! Last weekend, I attended a wonderful workshop called The Bigger Game Workshop. The presenter, Rick Tamlyn, was full of fun, energy, and insight. And, he generously shared all of that, and more, with all the workshop attendees. During the workshop, we were challenged to let our Bigger Game find us through a series of powerful exercises. Rick gave us some great examples of people who are playing their own Bigger Games. In every example, what are now BIG enterprises grew out of single person’s hunger, commitment, and bold actions. One of those people, Ron Clark, is right here in Atlanta. His passion for teaching and making a positive difference in the lives of disadvantaged children have led him to some remarkable accomplishments, including being named Disney’s American Teacher of the Year in 2000 and opening The Ron Clark Academy in Atlanta this year (2007).
When you start looking for examples of people who are playing The Bigger Game, you’ll see that they are all around you. One that I recently heard about is Zaadz. Zaadz is a social network with a compelling purpose: to change the world! I’m still working on naming my Bigger Game, so stayed tuned. If you are playing a Bigger Game or know of others who are, please share so we can all be inspired.
